About
.NET & Azure for the Energy Sector
I build and modernize .NET platforms on Azure for energy companies, connect them with Dynamics 365, and run them in production. For more than seven years I have worked on customer-facing platforms of German energy companies: self-service portals for PV system registration and grid connection requests, customer onboarding, and portals for customers and business partners. I cover the whole path: build the backend, migrate it to Azure, automate infrastructure and delivery, and keep it healthy in production.
Professional Experience
Since 2022 I have worked as a freelance Senior .NET & Azure Engineer. From 2022 to 2026 I worked for a DAX-listed energy utility: .NET / ASP.NET Core backends and REST APIs for customer portals, migration from Windows Server / IIS to Azure App Service, an upgrade from .NET 5 to .NET 8, the complete Terraform infrastructure and all Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, Dynamics 365 integration, and production support in the System Management team. From 2019 to 2022 I was Lead Consultant at Acando / CGI for a regional grid operator, where I built B2C and B2B self-service portals from scratch with ASP.NET MVC / ASP.NET Core, together with the integration layer to Dynamics 365. Before that I worked as a research associate and web developer at TU Clausthal and IAV (2016–2018), building .NET and SQL Server applications. I hold an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Clausthal University of Technology.
Technical Focus & Approach
Backend: C#, .NET 8, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, Entity Framework Core and SQL Server. Azure: App Service, Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, Private Endpoints, Entra ID and Managed Identity. Delivery: Terraform and Azure DevOps YAML pipelines across multiple environments. Dynamics 365 CE: XRM SDK with early-bound entities, C# plugins, JavaScript form scripts and solution deployment. Operations: Application Insights, Azure Monitor and Workbooks, incident response and root cause analysis. I work across the stack with React and TypeScript when the project needs it, and I bring in Azure AI (Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, RAG) through my AI-103 certification and personal reference projects.
